Even those who don’t understand these terms will have fun here. A little away from Oberhof, snowkiting can be tried out in the immediate vicinity of Schönbrunn. The unique Thuringian Forest offers a total of 530 km of winter hiking trails. If you want to spend a magical winter vacation in the Thuringian Forest, you’ve come to the right place. The trails are marked according to distance and difficulty. Beautiful examples include the hiking trail in Floh-Seligenthal, which is 4 km long and leads along the Rennsteig over the Alte Ausspanne to the Ebertswiese. On the 1.2 km long forest adventure trail to the Schneekopf, you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view from the summit and observation tower at 1001 meters altitude.
